中國國民黨總統參選人洪秀柱閉關後，今天首度出面召開記者會。她說絕對會為信念奮鬥到底，絕不退縮；也強調，「我始終認為我的對手是蔡英文女士」。
洪秀柱二日深夜突然在社群網站臉書（facebook）宣布，「我決定暫停每天陀螺般的行程，進行深刻的反省與沉思」，引發外界關切洪秀柱未來動向。經過四天閉關，洪秀柱今天首度面對媒體，暢談閉關心得。
洪秀柱表示，她希望與民進黨總統參選人蔡英文引領一場名符其實的「選舉」，而不再是「選戰」，一起透過女性無私的良知與深厚的愛心，終結藍綠立場的惡鬥和理盲偏見的民粹，將各自關鍵的治國理念與做法，經由反覆的說明與辯證，交給選民抉擇。
媒體問及為何沒有提到親民黨主席宋楚瑜？洪秀柱說，「我始終認為我的對手就是蔡英文女士」。
